Aeries

This allows users to import directly from the Aeries API so the district/site’s IT does not need to create and import a flat file on a daily basis.

• When the Enable Aeries Integration box is checked on the Aeries screen, Meals Plus will automatically perform a synch with Aeries based on the frequency selected.  The automated synch relies on a Microsoft Windows Service to be installed by the district contact.

  • It will sync similar to the manual sync.

About Aeries Service

The Aeries Service is a Microsoft Windows Service that runs the student import based on the configured scheduled.

• Installing the service:

  • If the Aeries Service has not been installed, you can install it by running the MP.AeriesService.bat found in your Program File\MealPlus\AeriesService folder. If the file or folder does not exist, please contact Meals Plus Support.

• Starting or restarting the service:

  • Go to Start: Control Panel: Administrative Tools: Services: Aeries Service and click Start or Restart.

• Please use the Reports: Import Logs to view any errors.

• The Configuration information needs to be entered before you can do a manual or automated synch.

  • The Base URL is the URL of your Aeries API.
  • The Certificate is a 32-character alpha numeric string provided by the Aeries API contact person.

• Select a synch frequency from the Import Frequency dropdown list. You can select from the following:

  • Every 24 hours
  • Every 12 hours
  • Every 6 hours
  • Every 3 hours
  • Every 2 hours
  • Every hour

Field Matching Grid

• The user has the option to import Student Number from the Aeries API.

  • The user can select to import OldPermanentID from the Aeries field in the grid.

    • Your district must be using Aeries v4 to be able to import OldPermanentId as Student Number; otherwise, an error will appear and nothing will import.

• Match the Aeries field names with the standard Meals Plus field names,so everything imports correctly.

  • Only four fields are required for Aeries integration: Student Number, Last Name, First Name and Site.

  • Aeries will import TeacherNumber if the customer is using v1 or v2, and import CounselorNumber if the customer is using v3 or above.

  • A Skip option in the dropdown allows other fields to be skipped.

• The Map Field (Site or Grade) button allows the user to map Site and Grade fields from Aeries grades to the Meals Plus grades, and you can map the Aeries Site information to a Meals Plus site.

  

  • Each Source Value can only be mapped once.
  • The Source Value field is user-defined data.
    • View XML on the Preview can be used to see the Aeries values.
  • Multiple Source Values can be mapped to the same Meals Plus Value.
  • If the Source Values are not mapped, they will import into Meals Plus as they are in Aeries.
  • If a Meals Plus grade is mapped to a Source Value and the Meals Plus grade is deleted from the product, the sync will recreate the grade.
  • Mapping is not saved until the user clicks Save on the main Aeries screen.
    • The Add button adds the data to the grid.
    • The Clear button clears the Source Value field.
    • The Remove button removes the data from the grid.
    • The Close button takes the user back to the Aeries screen.

• The user has the option to import Serving Number from the Aeries API.

  • The user can skip this field (default).

  • The user can select to import OldPermanentID from the Aeries field in the grid.

Preview Section

• The preview section displays how the fields from Aeries will be mapped and imported into Meals Plus.  This is a tool to help ensure your mapping configuration is correct before doing a full import.

  • Enter a Student Number and School Code in the fields and click Refresh. The information will display in the grid for you to review.
  • The View XML displays the raw XML coming from Aeries. This will primarily be used by Meals Plus Support to assist with mapping the configuration.

• The Manual Sync button will import all Active students fromAeries into Meals Plus using the mapped configuration.

  • When you click Manual Sync, it will:
    • Add all active students in Aeries to Meals Plus.
    • Student that have a Withdraw status in Aeries will be withdrawn from Meals Plus. Students that are in Meals Plus but not in Aeries will be left as-is.
    • A manual import is required at least once before the automatic imports can be ran.
    • You can view the results of the Manual or Automatic import from System Management: Reports: Import Log.
