March is National Nutrition Month®!

march nutrition monthThe Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics are encouraging healthy eating habits and physical fitness with National Nutrition Month® and Meals Plus is excited to spread the word! We recognized Registered Dietitian Day was last week and shared some of the AND’s helpful tips for encouraging healthy eating at school. The message for National Nutrition Month® is “Get Your Plate in Shape” and in recognition, is offering plenty of resources to help you “eat right”. Making half your plate fruits and veggies, half of your grains, whole, varying your protein choices and keeping with a physical fitness routine are just a few of their recommendations.

But there are so many more resources available to you from the AND! Check out their Nutrition Education Resources for healthy living tips for children and adults, some of their most popular recipes, classroom guides, how RDs can help you and much more. There is also a great resource center that can help you promote and run your program from the School Nutrition Association!
