“Back to School” Tips with Meals Plus

The “Back to School” is busy, but it doesn’t have to be stressful! Here are some tips to make starting the new school year easy in Meals Plus’ cafeteria management system.

Help Files & Documentation are easy to find!

All Meals Plus programs have built-in online help menus. Additionally, we have added new Appendix sections with tips and other documents that used to be online. Now everything can be found in one place for your convenience!

System Management Tips:

When your client portion of the program is installed on your computer, the next step is to set the ‘AppConfig Utility’ which tells the PC where to find the server and database. This component is found in the ‘Meals Plus’ folder in ‘Program Files’, typically in c:\programfiles\mealsplus\appconfigutility.exe.

And a lot of the system functionality is controlled by your user security setup. If you aren’t able to do something in Meals Plus, the first place to check is security. The User Group setup controls the restrictions for every user in the group. So you can easily control who does what in Meals Plus!

File Imports & Export Tips:

Remember, before importing a student file you will want to confirm the serving number information in the System Management Control File. And when creating an export from your district’s student information system, it is very important to follow the format specified in the User Manual under ‘Administration’, ‘Import Students’.
