Meet the Meals Plus Quality Assurance Team – Trish

Meet the Meals Plus Team! Trish is a member of the Quality Assurance Team that helps make sure the Meals Plus school food service management system meets the needs for child nutrition directors.

The Dish: How long have you been at Meals Plus?
Trish: I have worked in Quality Assurance testing Meals Plus products for about seven years. Before that I worked in support and training for Meals Plus and CMS.

TD: What duties and responsibilities does your position entail?
T: I do QA testing for Meals Plus program enhancements and fixes. QA is part of the Development team, and we work closely with the developers. We start with the specifications on what is required for the next software update release and the team meets to determine what is needed to make it happen. Then we test the code to make sure it works like it’s supposed to.

TD: What aspects of your position do you enjoy the most?
T: Designing and testing new features is probably the most fun. It includes designing and implementing both the user interface (the part that the users see) and the data that makes it all work.

TD: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
T: I like birding and kayaking. And the beach, of course. Wilmington’s a great place to live because you can go to the beach any time you want to! I also love to travel and I try to visit at least one new place every year.

TD: What was your favorite lunch when you were in school?
T: Spaghetti. And I loved the cafeteria’s oatmeal cookies.
